Alyssa Briggs

Alyssa is a 23-year-old from Colorado but now lives in a small town in Virginia. When she was just 6 years old, she and her family drove to Oklahoma from Colorado to visit their family for Thanksgiving. They never made it to their intended destination and were in a bad car accident. Alyssa suffered a complete spinal cord injury. Alyssa's favorite motto is, "The only disability in life is a bad attitude." She enjoys going out with friends, being with family, jamming out to music, being with her animals, and eating cheeseburgers!

Matt Feeney

Matt Feeney

Matt Feeney, a Colorado native, has always been an athlete; he was a high school All-American. In 1988 he suffered a spinal cord injury and became paralyzed. He has since become a PSIA-certified ski instructor, a USA-certified water-ski instructor, a two-time off-road downhill champion, and an accomplished hand cyclist. In 2005, Matt was named the Colorado Adaptive Athlete of the Year. In 1999 Matt co-founded Adaptive Adventures. Above all else, Matt is a survivor.

Jenny Siegle

Jenny graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communications and a minor in Speech Communication. She is currently a producer for Altitude Sports and a Video Production Specialist for the Colorado Rockies.

Mark Holbert

Mark Holbert

Mark currently resides in northern Virginia with his wife and daughters after he was medically retired from the United States Army. Since his retirement, Mark has earned his bachelor's degree from Georgetown University and went back to work as an intel analyst supporting the Department of Defense. Mark strives to stay active in his life, not just for himself, but also for his family. He enjoys working out, competing in triathlons, riding his motorcycles, and being an inspiration to his family and friends. Mark's future plans include continuing to serve his country by supporting military service members & veterans and just enjoying life.

Shawn Hessee

Shawn Hessee

Shawn travels the country doing comedy and motivational speaking at clubs, elementary and high schools, colleges, and corporate events. He sees comedy as a way to talk about sensitive issues and break down the barriers and stereotypes that often come with having a disability. But his first love is motivational speaking. Through his speaking, Shawn gives a powerful message of perseverance and determination to accomplish personal and professional goals. Shawn shares his personal experiences with both humor and brutal honesty of the difficulties he has had to endure. His message will truly inspire his audiences and challenge today's stereotypes of disabilities, while redefining the meaning of courage. He is a recipient of numerous awards including the Easter Seals Lifetime Achievement Award and North Carolina State University's Most Outstanding Person. He is a graduate of East Carolina University.
